5 days after.....

    After 5 woeful days in this diet called 5+1 meal (consists of 5 medifast meal plus 1 on my own lean and green meal), let me show everyone what I eat day to day.
    My favorite breakfast meal is the medifast pancake which I prepare just by adding water and frying it on a pan or griddle. I put a little sugar free syrup and spread it with Smart Balance butter. 
    At around 9:30 am I eat a snack which is usually a crunch bar. My favorite is the peanut butter or the smore crunch bar.
    Now come lunch time, this is the most problematic meal of my day cause I was so used to eating out, and so far none of this meals are as appealing. Usually I pick a soup for lunch which are chicken noodle soup, cream of chicken or beef with vegetable. Take note it is only a cup of serving....not much. Here's what it looks like.
     Now after eating only a cup of food for lunch I cant wait for my mid afternoon snack which is usually pretzel sticks, which is OK.


    Finally its dinner time, my only real meal of the day but I can only have a lean and green meal, so my closest friend now is Zaxby's, I usually order the house salad with grilled chicken, no cheese and no fried onions, with lite ranch dressing. 
   But wait I still have what I call a bonus meal which is a snack at around 9 pm. I usually don't eat anything late at night but when I was told I can have one, it was a no brainer but have one. I usually eat a medifast brownie.
    So there you go, this will be my life in another month, hopefully I will survive. Its been really hard especially on weekends where usually we go out to friends house or just in the mall and have to decide what to eat. 
    And here is what I weigh as of today.
    7 lbs in 5 days!!! wooohoooooooo!!!

It is here!

    Today Nov 1, my stash of food for the next 5 dreadful weeks is here. And looking at all this so called food which are really just boxes, it looks like its going to be a looooong 5 weeks.
    Here is a snap shot of my food which I will keep in 2 bins, one for the "in betweens" and one for the regular meals.



    So tomorrow Nov 2 will be my first day. We will see!

The dreaded 4 letter word

    Welcome to my blog! The reason for this blog is to document a journey that I would have never thought I would embark on, and that's the 4 letter word called DIET. And you ask, why now? Well, I am nearing 50 and pain has been appearing everywhere in my body, plantar fascitis, lateral epicondylitis, muscle ache; here, there and everywhere. I am also on diabetic meds, cholesterol meds and allergy meds for awhile.
    So here I am today looking myself in the mirror asking "what would Beboy do?" There is only one thing left to do and thats DIET. It's actually a program called Take Shape for Life (www.tsfl.com) which will provide me with food that I have to consume in the next 5 weeks. Today, my health coach Tonya Shaw helped me order pancakes, peanut butter crunch bars, strawberry soft serve, and chicken noodle soup, to name a few. The good thing about this program is I have to eat every 2 hours!! Woohooo!! However, the taste of this meals remains to be seen. I will update this blog as often as I can and let you know which ones taste good or bad.
    So for documentation purposes, here's my weight today.


    I will start with my new diet in a week when I receive my meals and I will update you then. So for now......GOOD LUCK TO ME!!!!
